Lyon-Turin Base Tunnel: Sustainability meets design
The new base tunnel shifts freight transport to rail, thereby significantly reducing CO₂ emissions. For integration into the Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne valley, NOE Betongestaltung developed together withn the architect Joël Chirino a formliner with a gabion look for the first time. The special solution became a new successful product: the ‘Gabion’ model – now part of the standard range.
